Congrats on the bike and welcome to the forum. I still follow these threads because I just sold my 04 last year. If you need any accessories I have a couple left over like a detachable w/s, heated grips, fork wind deflectors, and a new vivid black console insert that I never put on if you or anyone may be interested in.
Awesome bikes guys, now if the salt gets washed off the roads here I'll take it out! Just put different bars on it today got rid of the wheel barrel feel
Hey Bagman, I'm interested in that black console insert. Please pm me with details so we don't hijack his thread.
And back on topic - I bought a RK custom back in November and am almost done with the ridiculous amount of changes I've made. Not really a custom anymore but I'll try to get some pics up soon.

Reason: half asleep
I basicalluy got mine and it was already heavily moded. About the only thing im gonna do is put on some purple neon. I really dig road kings with ape hangers and white walls. To each his own. Do what ya feel and what ya like. make your bike, YOUR bike. Congrats on the buy, its a great machine. Great head turner and very comfortable. Enjoy bud!
I owned my Road King Custom for 9 years and put many miles on it and loved everyone of them. Over the years I removed the funky chrome cowling and replaced it with a Tach. Upgraded to a big bore 98 with Power Commander, breather and true dual Rineharts giving me awesome torque, power and sound!
I also chromed the front end, relocated the license plate bracket and added LEDs as fillers(see pic RKC2) and replaced the seat with a Corbin classic solo
and put on beach bars and added the auxiliary driving lights up front along with Lindby crash bars. Also added chrome here and there. I ran Metzler tires on it and my last upgrade was the the addition of the SE hydraulic CAM chain tensioner. I loved the "nostalgic" look of the bike and did many 600 mile plus days on it. If I could have afforded to keep two bikes I would have when I finally traded it on a 2014 SGS.
Pic RKC3 shows the bike on the dealer floor after I traded it and with the original seat and some of my other accessories.
Have fun,

I searched on here quite sometime but had no luck finding many black road kings with black spoke wheels. So any bagged out or lowrider style roadking customs please post your bike! Thanks in advance
