Default Tag relocation thoughs for 2006 RK FLHRSI

I have a 2006 road king custom, FLHRSI, and wanted to do a tag relocation. I've thought about adding the metal bracket that mounts under the rear turn signal bar, http://www.jpcycles.com/product/340-730 s, but I hear it's not well put together. So I thought I could drill holes in the connecting bar from the back to add the street glide tag holder while I have it off? Anyone done this? Would I destroy the bar? Any suggestions? I'm moving from a stock fender to the klock Werks smooth 2inch drop fender non-frenched with the their upper and lower fillers. Appreciate the comments and experience

I've been using the Softbrake mount on my RK for couple yrs now. no issues, ez to install. First I've heard of it not being well made, sturdy piece of stainless steel. You won't be disappointed if u go that route.

I've heard it's not an exact fit to the 2 signal bar holes. Did you have to modify anything?

It bolted right up, I'm using the RK custom rear light bar identical to yours.

I used the parts from the OEM mounting location and modified them to make this.

I did the measuring and cutting...then took the parts to a local machine shop and had them do welding. Total job cost me like $20.

Took that pic to show a buddy how low it sits with the air-ride dumped.

Also kinda shows-off my plate mount.

Jumpman, how do you have that mounted to the the bike? Off of the muffler mount, or the saddlebag guard mount?

It's mounted to the saddlebag support.
