Doing some lowers when I FINALLY get the bike out the shed for the season and I wanted to throw a PC gloss black crash bar as it's pretty much the only item left to black out (except engine).
Here's the deal. Will an 09+ crash bar fit an older model? Looking at them closely, it seems the 09+ design is the same with the exception of the upper mount. It looks like the upper mount was designed to fit in between the tubes. With that being said, one would think the new design would fit the older design that didn't have that restriction.
Seems these damn things were everywhere on eBay at one point.......now there's hardly anything. It would be great if an 09+ fit. I have to find something, powdercoating around here is almost the price of buying one and I'd rather just sell my perfect chrome one after and make out better in the end.
Seems like it would just be easier to get yours PC'd, they're not that much to go through the hassle of finding one already done, getting it shipped, then trying to sell yours and shipping it away. To each their own tho, good luck
Yeh, I'm going back and forth right now with PC companies in the area. Most are bigger companies and whatnot so I guess I'll have to get a "batch" of stuff to them to meet their minimum orders.
Wish I was still in bama/pensacola area.....guy there did almost all my parts, did an amazing job, at an insanely reasonable price. All in a shop dedicated to it in his backyard. Gotta find the NH version of him!
My local guy did mine for $25. It's expensive to run that oven, so I usually have to wait to combine my smaller parts with a larger order. Some smaller coaters may not have a job every day, so it doesn't pay them to fire it up for a small order.

Looks damnnnnnn fiiiiiine sir. That bar/lowers combo is exactly what I'm going for.
In reference to operating costs, I think thats the case here. I have a place that I sent a list of remaining things to be coated and asked for a quote. Yeh, they came back with we can do all that (the list) for $100, which is our minimum. Done deal, that's a good price for everything, now I won't have parts lying around.
