I have a 06 ultra classic I purchased stripped and put it back together. My tank console is set for coms and I wanted to swap it out with a non com one, I want to loose the connector, and have powder coated black.

Like the one below, will this work?

no, Ya need a console before '08.

From 08 the touring range has 6 gallon tanks, which while they look similar are a quite different shape to your 5 gallon tank, hence consoles will not swap.

 

I removed my com stuff and got one of those chrome ball milled dash inserts. Looks great! About $70 and I think they come in black.
