I lived in an RV Park when I first moved to AZ. I bought a 10'x12' metal shed from lowes. Built a 4"x4" floor frame plywood floor screwed the shed to the plywood then insulated the shed with that Styrofoam insulation. My ultra fit and even had room for a work bench tool box and all kinds of crap. I have since moved to a 1 acre place in the country and got one of those rent to own 12'x24' wooden garages. I wired it with lots of plugs lights work bench for me and mama does stained glass work so she has a work bench too. This year I am insulating it. Has a roll up garage door really like this.
I had limited space and a limited budget. Built a frame using metal studs and used metal siding for the roof and sides. I only use it during the summer because my buddy lets me use his heated garage during the winter. I think the entire project was under $300. Got lucky and found the doors on the clearance rack at Menards for a buck each.
pour a slab and build your own is the best...I'd stay away from those metal sheds myself. wouldn't want those plastic ones everybody is selling now either. I would consider a small shipping container...
This looks perfect. How does it hold down? Stakes or is it heavy enough? Does the bike stay dry when it's raining?
It comes with anchors that screw into the ground when there is no floor . There are also holes in the corners and middle that I used to screw it down to my wooden floor . When I had it on the ground without the wooden floorIt would get condensation when it was humid or raining but the floor has solved that problem . The bike stays dry in the rain.
What is a garage but a wooden shed??? I have a 3 1/2 car garage That won't fit a car (car and truck under carport) and had to build an extra garage for the tractor.
I have a 12'x20' wooden shed i found on craigslist for $1300. delivered. Was a pretty good deal I thought 'cause he said he paid $3500. I set it on 4"x6"s and installed an overhead door. I keep my bike in the garage in summer for convienience but store it in the shed for winter so I don't have the hot-cold cycle every other day which is the recipie for condensation. Seems to work fine and so far has been critter free. And its out of the way.
