Not trying to hijak this thread but I was just trying to get a look at my battery it's in my FLTRU and I can't get the top caddy to swing up, the front is hooked over a bracket, listed in page 1-54 of the shop manual as invisible, no ****!, and I cannot get it forward enough to swing it up. Whoever designed this really deserves to be tortured. It looks like I'll have to cut cable ties all the way to the tail light to get enough free play. Has anyone else been through this?
I went to Batterymart and they backordered twice. I had to cancel and went to Auto-Zone . A Deka battery with Duralast sticker 107.00 . Same battery ETX-20L, Yeah, more money but I'm riding!

I had to cut the battery cover with a dremel tool with a small diamond cut-off wheel, I notched the top enough to clear the bracket in the front after that everything went pretty smooth. Here are some pics.
Personally, I always go with the good ol' OEM H-D sealed batteries. I got around 15 years of dependable, trouble-free service out of the one on my '94 Dyna - only on the tender during the winter season. Can't ask for more than that (IMHO).
Get the Deka. I did a lot of research and the Deka is the best choice. After I installed the battery and hit the start button it fired up with much force. My two brothers also went with Deka following my advise and they too noticed the difference.
