Default Batwing removal

I am trying to track down an electrical gremlin as in this thread
https://www.hdforums.com/m_1422097/tm.htm

I have the 6 push pins removed, the 3 windscreen bolts removed and the two bolts removed as well as the light and unplugged it. What am I missing to get the front part of the batwing off?

There are only 5 screws if memory serves correct for removing the outer fairing. 3 are used to connect the outer, inner and to hold the windshield in place. 2 of them are on the back side of the fairing and are down between the forks (1 on either side). If you've got a street glide, the easiest way to do it is to remove the two from the back first because the outer fairing will drop when the last screw is removed without an auxillary light bar to hold it in place. After the screws are out, you just disconnect the connector from the back of the headlight. Let me know if you need a better explaination and I'll find a picture for you of the 2 screws on the backside. The service manual proved very helpful in getting this piece off for the first time.

Always take the top center screw out last, and put it in first to go back on. Makes it nice and easy for a one man job.
