2008 Japanese sportster rear pulley #40510-08 and #9285 extended race bearing. Need to press the bearing that comes in the new pulley out and press the 9285 one in. You can inspect and replace the iso rubbers if needed at this time, mine were very new. Stock belt still worked, wheel is almost all the forward but it worked. Others have reported this as well.

It is as easy as removing the rear wheel, taking out the pulley, it slides out no fasteners, and putting the new pulley in it's place. I already swapped the bearing out previous to removing the stock pulley. Then re-install rear wheel, tension belt and check your work.

That doesn't sound too bad. I can pull that off. Thanks for the info and help.

I had to make mine a little sleeker and it is still super comfortable for the wife and I when we go on long trips. I did the detachable tp, different bars, removed the bumpers, SG bag holders, SG seat when riding solo. I went 103 and cams with sepst tuner for a little pick me up. Still a UC but it can be a little cleaner if u choose.

The simplest thing you can do to "un-geezer" the bike is remove the tour pack and lowers. It's a free mod too. Joe

also if you want a cheap upgrade that will wake her up;

lose the stock slipons. Keep the stock headpipe as it doesn't have a cat in it. Get you a good set of slipons you like, Rineharts work well, grab an Andrews 48H cam and slap it in there (change the bearings $10). Hi flow air cleaner (stage 1 is fine with stock cover just get a K&N filter). bring it to someone in your area that is good at tuning and let them do their magic. You'll like it after that.
