I have a cvo 2014 ultra with a hammock seat 16" front 15" rear, I was looking at a Mustang seat but with shipping and import tax etc to the UK it's a non starter, the hammock seat is a little to wide at the front which makes the reach to the floor more difficult, I think the standard ultra seat would be the answer as it won't be as wide at the front ? I suspect the actual height is the same as the hammock. any advice or alternatives would be appreciated, don't really want to go to a reach seat as they aren't that comfortable
Hello old chap! We have seat upholsterers over here who can adjust your current seat to make it a better fit. Look for UK custom seat makers, or even a local upholsterer may be able to do it for you. No need to change seat if yours can be made to work! In any event you can buy Mustang seats over here, without importing them yourself.
We don't have an MCC over here, but we do have custom seat makers. Shipping a bulky seat both ways would really bump up the cost, plus risk adding other costs such as import duties. Best avoided I reckon!
I have the Limited with a stock seat. I demo'd a Hammock this last weekend. I didn't notice any difference in the width, but I felt like the seated position of the stock seat was lower.
I'm not sure if it would help with the reach to the floor, but if you have access to a stock Limited, it would sure be worth sitting on.
Sadly, for me the Hammock was a lot more comfortable than the stock seat...
Thanks for the info I contacted a custom seat place in coventry and they couldn't do it, I suspect it was because it was heated, I don't really want to alter the cvo seat because of resale etc. I will contact a mustang uk distributor though to see what the deal is
I've looked at and am buying a Le Pera seat, they have multiple styles that are MUCH narrower than any of the HD seats and most others. There's a handful of 2 ups and solo's that are 10-12" wide and some are also a bit more forward.
