Well it's official.... I am the new owner of a 2013 Street Glide. When I get some pictures and learn how to upload them, i'll post them. Until then, I'm still reading, snooping and trying to learn about these bikes. I will say one thing....I've never stalled a bike so much as I have this one.... my Sporty certainly does not need as much throttle and clutch slipping as this does to get going!!! that and the extra 400 pounds of weight are gonna take some getting used to !!! But I am looking forward to a trip now!!!
I do need a couple things...different seat and driving lights are top of the list. I need a seat to plant my fat a$$ a bit closer and a bit downward. I be short legged so I need a reduction!! Plus i want more lights on the bike!!!
So be ready for another idiot here!!!
Photobucket.com is a great site to upload your pictures to. then you copy the image code they provide each picture and paste it in your replies or posts. On here before you post you can hit preview post to see what your post will look like before committing to it.
Congrats on the new bike! i've ridden baggers for about 20 years. But when I got the '06 twin cam Ultra,it took a little more revs than I was used to starting out from a dead stop![yep, stalled it a few times] The flywheels are lighter than older bikes,so the engine just doesn't have the inertia going at low rpms.
You"ll get used to it!
Congrats on the FLHX you're going to love it ! Don't worry you will get used to the weight its pretty nimble once you're rolling. Yea the mods will get you of course but what to hell hey !
@spartanden: I'm getting used to the extra weight on my Ultra Limited, so I know how you feel! I see a link every now and then on the right from www.harleyloweringkits.com and would be curious if anyone used this system and has feedback?
