The Quicksilver products are endorsed by Mercury Marine Corp. They are more "****" about what they endorse then Harley, Porsche, Ferrari, BMW etc. You get my point. Without the spec sheet, I am comfortable running their oil. I had it in my crankcase on a 1200 mile trip last week. Motor was quieter then with the Mobile 1 vTwin I had been using for years. As for my primary I will not run syn oil in it.

I AM warming up to Mercury Marine's Quicksilver 20W-50 motorcycle oil, simply because it is motorcycle-specific, Mercury Marine puts their name on it, and it's the same price as Mobil 1 15W-50!
The Quicksilver web-site says that their 20W-50 motorcycle oil "Protects gears, transmission and wet clutch", which seems to imply that it can be used safely in all three (3) holes. Sounds good to me!
The web-site also says, "Meets or exceeds manufacturer’s warranty requirements. Using this product will not void manufacturer warranties", and "Meets or exceeds API SF/SG/SJ/SL/SM and JASO MA2". No arguments here, either.
I just serviced my FLHX with Mobil 1's 15W-50 and 75W-90 lubes to start the season; but I just may try Quicksilver Motorcycle Oil at the next change OCI...

I ran syn 20w50 Mobile vTwin in all 3 holes on 3 of my Harley's since 2005. I still run 20w50 MC specific Syn in the crankcase. I installed syn gear lube in trans last year and much improved shift. I also installed Shell Rotella T dino oil in the primary. It gave me a much better feel in the clutch release when starting from a stop. With syn oil I could always feel a momentary slip in clutch when starting from a stop. The Rotella has eliminated the slip and neutral easier to hit. The oil price is 1/3 of syn oil, but not a factor in my changing over. Syn 20w50 is a waste in the primary and I feel it causes clutch to work harder then it needs to.
While the Quicksilver oil is motorcycle-specific, and looks promising, I couldn't find a complete list of the specs on it, so I went with Mobil 1 15W-50 in the motor/primary and Mobil 1 75W-90 in the transmission.
Mobil 1 is a known quantity with plenty of history, while Quicksilver is new to the show. Time will tell.
I don't claim to be an expert, or even mildly knowledgeable. But my understanding is all the motorcycle specific oils can be run in the primary as well if you want to. However, the only "car oil" O.K. for the primary is 10W-40, or oil for diesel motors. The rest has the stuff in it that wet clutches don't like. 15W-50 in the primary is a mistake from what I think I've learned reading all the oil threads.
I've run the Amsoil 20/50 I think it's a good product & very similar to Mobil1. From what I have heard Mobil1 is the maker of the base compounds for Amsoil that's my 2 cents
Mobil is made from Basestock #3, I suppose they could sell AMSOIL Basestock #4 ? There are 4 Major Basestock suppliers, & there is 4 Major Additive suppliers, 2 of them, selling both products ! It's all in the BLENDING ! Mobil has picked up some Bad Habits, from Castrol, I'll stick with AMSOIL, NO Shortcuts !
Erik Buell was Factory filling his Bikes with AMSOIL Dominator 15W-50, with Friction Modifiers, Buell was looking for more HP ! Not to be used in Primary !
If I was racing my Bike every weekend, I'd be using the Dominator 15W-50, & if was planning a 10K ride arond all 48 states, I'd be using the AMSOIL MCV-20W-50 ! PERIOD ! END OF THREAD !
