Hi was wondering i bought a 2011 96 street glide and came with sert. The bike has 254E cams screaming eagle adjustable push rods,SE air cleaner and clutch spring and rinehart 2 into 1 exhaust.I hooked up the sert and the map that was on there is
009SAH002
componets:
SE air cleaner or heavy breathe kit
SE big bore cylinders
SE big bore flat top pistons
SE 255 cams
race Exhaust
I saw this map and was wondering wouldnt this be a better map for this bike?
44AAR001
components:
SE air cleaner of heavy breather kit
SE big bore cylinders
SE 254E cams
SE exhaust
If your bike is still a 96" then you should probably look for a stage 2 map, without the big bore in tittle....as that would probably mean it is a 103kit.
you can always run the smart tune feature, I don't have any experience with smart tune, but there is this you tube video on it. this should keep you busy for a little while..:-)
009SAH002 is listed as a 1690 or 103ci stage 2
44AAR001 is listed as 1690 or 103ci stage 2
The 009 strategy is being left behind and the 044 taking its place on Cal files I have from 2010 to present. I would suggest you stay with the 44AAR001 as the base map as that is the closest canned base map.
Now since you have a 1584/96ci the CI in the tuning constants should be 96.7, have you checked?
thanks for the info but u will have to forgive me as as i am new to the super tuner and the software.I not sure were i would see the tuning constants?I see there is a place under the tuning fork were i can put in optional selections like motor, bore, stroke, compression ect if i fill all that info out does it have something to do with it when i flash the bike with my chosen file? From what i have been reading i think i will need to do a smart tune.
OK, you have not made clear how much you have done before, so excuse any instructions you already know.
First, make sure you save the file that is in the VCI. You said it was 009SAH002
1) Tuning fork/VCI tab (ignition & run on) open the file in the VCI. save/as this file with a name and location you will remember.
2) left column bottom see tuning, open and see what the ci is set at. It should be 96.7
3) Now open last saved/or original base file 44AAR001 and make sure the ci is 96.7. Save/as a filename and place you will remember.
4) Flash to bike in smartune mode with reset AFV and do data runs
5) update VE save/as new file name
6) repeat step 4/5 until VE changes are less than 5%
i saved the file that was on the tuner and its VCI_009SAH002.dt0 when i click the tuning fork and open the file i do not see a 96.7 here is what i see on the bottom left of the screen
Application: 2010-2013 Stage 2 w/SE-255 Cams
Configuration: 1690 Stage 2 with SE-255 cams
Components:
- SE Air Cleaner or Heavy Breather Kit
- SE Big Bore Cylinders P/N 16546-99 or 16549-99
- SE Big Bore Flat Top Pistons P/N 21966-07
- SE 255 Cams P/N 25638-07
- Race Exhaust
- ACR DISABLED
unless i am looking in the wrong spot.I figured out the how to load the 44AAR001.dt0 file but not sure hot to make it 96.7?thanks for all the help.I doing some reading on smart tune as we speak
There is no doubt that you need to become familiar with the file.
Open file 44AAR001. On the left you should see
Air-fuel
VE front
VE rear
all the way down to;
Tuning setup
expand the +on tuning setup- open working (place mouse on working, hold down left button and drag to one of the four windows)
Engine displacement=103.3 change to 96.7
now open compare file VCI_009SAH002.dt0 that you just saved and see what engine displacement was there. was it 96.7?
(note: 009SAH002.dt0 is longer available with the latest update, they are moving to the 044 tunes)
