You can't Magnaflux alloy wheels, only steel rims. You could do a Penetrant test for any cracks open to the surface. With the cost of X-ray it would be cost prohibitive, just replace the wheel.

Penetrant and Magnetic particle testing are for surface indications only, X-ray and Ultrasonic testing are for sub-surface indications.

 

The damage to the rim should not pose a problem, but that's a 5 year old tire(July/09), or maybe was old stock.

Indiana has some of the worse Potholes, our Interstate System really sucks the INDOT has been non-existent this spring patching them, the Indiana Govenor has sure saved the Taxpayer money this year, but at what cost!
