Street Glide Seat and Adjustable Backrest

I just installed one on my 2014 SGS, and mine opens the slit just a little tiny bit more than without. Is that what you're talking about, or is it significantly greater than before? I can barely notice mine, and it's only on the stock SG seat. I also picked up a Sundowner seat, and it is a bit higher so the slit is unaffected. I have to dig around a little in there to locate the mount before I can mount/dismount the backrest portion.

I ended up buying a different seat. I tried Jason's personal bracket and backrest pad out and it worked great. My bike is an 09 streetglide

Yes, I use the Sundowner with a Tour Pak when the wife rides with me and run the stock SG seat normally. Pics in the link in the sig below.
