seems there's been some tour pack relocation questions popping up here lately! just posted this on another thread.
the bar that i bought was 1" wide x 3/8" thick. here's a few pics as best i could get them with out taking the tour pack loose and lifting it up.
i mounted the aluminum flat bar to the factory mounts with a stainless steel bolt, then the first adjustment back was just past the brace (at apx 2-3/8"), then in 1" increments from there.
i put a thick rubber pad between the tour pack and the flat bar as a spacer.
all in all.... i have about $15 tied up in the relocation mod, and maybe an hour or so of time put into it.
