A buddy of mine has Agitators off of a (then) new CVO.
After a tire change, his tires kept losing pressure. He thought it was his valve stem and/or valve core, so he changed them, but apparently that didnt fix it.
His dealer said that the chrome around where the tire makes the bead on the rim had "failed" causing them to constantly lose pressure.
Sounds odd to me, but I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced anything similar with Agitators.
My take is it isn't the chrome coming off (the thickness of the plating is quite thin). The bead on the tire could be more the culprit in my opinion. He needs to have someone unseat the tire from the wheel, apply bead sealer, re inflate and chances are that will take care of the issue.

He wants them to do bead sealer but apparently they dont/wont do it anymore, not sure why.
Bead sealer is not really a solution. There is too much liability with something like that. It might help. What kind of tire is he running on the rim? I'd try a different tire first. The other question is did the guy use something to shine his tires? Some of those car products like formula 2000 and unseal the bead on an mc tire. Had it happen on a Honda I owned and had a friend wash for me many years ago on the freeway no less.

We don't mount a lot of Dunlops but Avons are always tougher the get to bead than Metzeler or Michelin tires. Never heard of this issue before and it has me intrigued. A new tire would be my first suggestion.

He's trying to make a warranty claim. He says they don't think the tire/wheel warranty will cover it because it isn't from a road hazard. They also said, that it might be difficult to warranty because Agitators aren't stock to that bike.
