I have never had full floating rotors.I was wondering if these rotors would start rattling after awhile. I'm just not sure how they are going to look on the bike. Guess I will have to see after they are installed.
Not sure what you have, but the new bikes have floating rotors and work very well. If you don't like them, have them replace same for same. Is this just extra stock they're looking to dump (not necessarily a bad thing, just a question)?
I have never had a problem with floating rotors, even changed my calipers to quick replace pads. those are a good quality and professionally installed should never cause problems. I guess it is just the look of them, if you like it or not
If they ever start rattling they will be knackered! Haven't had any problems with floating rotors, except custom ones.
Fwiw I believe the discs the OP is considering are what are generally known as 'semi floating', which is what you will typically get from most oems. True floating rotors will indeed rattle and give the impression that they're cream crackered (which is likely why the oems don't use 'em). Fwiw I used that disc style when doing the Brembo upgrade - worked great.
