So I'm thinking of getting the matching rear wheel for my 09 SG. I would be getting a recommend 17x6.25 wheel with a 200mm/55R-17 tire. Does this combo fit with no clearance issues? What about the 18" rear setup? If I member correctly the rear on my 09 SG has been lowered 2". Thanks!
I just Installed a matching Chrome on Mine....17" 6.25 wide....200 rear tire....that's as big as you can get under a 09.....you can go taller...18" will be the stock 5.5 wide...and a 180 tire...I like have the extra 3/4 width ...more rubber on the road....17" fits Just Fine with a 200...no Issues at All....
I took mine back to the Dealer where I bought it from...I know the Service manager there...3 1/2 hours away...just to get my wheels and fender installed...They build top end Custom Show Baggers....I trust the guy to handle Bike...He Said there are no issues on having a 17" 6.25/ 200 on the back....Main reason he said you can't do a 18" with 200 is it will rub the underside of the rear fender at higher speeds...guess the tire grows some at highway speeds...makes sense ...I wanted a wider stance anyway....went with a 21" on the Front.....Biggest help I had done was lowering the front end 1"...got it back to almost stock height....I can't even tell I am running taller wheels now

Thanks for the info. I'm mixed on getting the matching rear wheel. What made you go ahead and spend the money on a matched rear wheel? Part of me feels that the bike isn't finished with mis-matched wheels. On the other hand I feel that if I just had the rear wheel powder coated gloss black it would just blend away since you really can't see it that much with the bags on.
