2012 FLHTK 30T question
Hey guys, I'm planning on doing the 30t conversion, ordered a gates belt and the tri glide pulley, what else is needed? Someone mentioned to me primary gasket. Is there a part number or kit you guys have used that have done this? Thanks!

Here's a little food for thought...what's the likelihood of a dealer having that belt in stock if you were to break a belt while out on the road? Slim to none!!! My advice would be to elongate the slot for the axle by 1/4" and add the gussets along the bottom of the swingarm to strengthen that area. That way you can still run your stock 140 tooth belt. You will need the inner and outer primary gaskets as well as the 5 bolts that hold the inner primary on. They have orange gasket type washers on them and they are one use bolts. Below is a pic of a swingarm with this modification.

That's a good idea, but I have to ask how often does anyone lose a belt? I haven't over the last 24 years, including several lengthy tours. Having travelled through countries in Eastern Europe where there is not a single Harley or S&S dealer I am amused how you chaps worry about problems, while riding around the States!

Gates poly chain 1" wide, recalibrate speedo with my power vision tuner. I could always buy a spare belt too, just in case. I found the inner primary gasket kit, looking for outer gasket, see lots of cosmetic primary kits online, but some look like they have 50 gaskets!
