I have a 2009 CVO Road Glide, and bought a used HK deck from a 2013 Ultra.
My indy mechanic said I should check with HD to make sure the HK decks aren't "married" to their bike like the ECU is.
The HD dealer told me that it will work, however some will display some type of error message now and then, but won't affect it's function. He says if it does that, the dealer can do a quick update flash that only takes a few minutes and can be done with the deck installed in the bike.
I tend to believe his since he answered my question with confidence, which gave me the impression he knew what he was talking about.
Has anyone ever experienced any issues with installing a used deck in their bikes?
