The triangular ones that work are no longer available from Harley unless you find some old stock. The new curved ones are a couple inches shorter and do little for the wind. Still can get the triangular ones after market though. Can get them in black or chrome. The triple tree deflector does little or nothing.
I have the new type on my SGS and they eliminated the severe buffeting I experienced just about completely. Had the old type on a Vstar Classic, ie same setup as a RK, and they worked great also.

The new type looks great IMO.

Ya I agree.

Anyone have experience with both that could comment?
A friend is storing his 09 RK here and I did an experiment with it. The new curved and the old triangular ones and with nothing. The curved ones help a little, as they stop at the top of the aux lights. When riding almost all the wind you feel is shooting up in the area where they stop and the windshield. The triangular ones come real close the windshield and are much more effective. Of coarse with nothing on its horrible wind buffeting.

Nice comparison. I think the older part number works great too and would like to know why Harley changed them.

Installed the HD deflectors today. Insane amount of difference these things make. They're not coming off the bike. Well worth the 71$ at Kutter HD

Thanks for the information and for everyone that posted here. I'm off this week to get the wind deflectors. Just can't take the wind at high speeds anymore.

I have the Windvest shield. I was able to get it at a discounted price at 4 wheel online. It works great and you can hardly tell that it is there.
