I have 78,000 on my 09, I pulled the front wheel at 62k to put a new tire on it and when moving the bearings with my fingers one of them felt rough/gritty, not smooth, so I replaced them.
The 1" ('00-'07) bearing is a double-row sealed ball bearing. The 25mm ('08 up) bearing is a single row sealed ball bearing. The earlier double row bearing has about twice the bearing surface as the newer single row bearing. Supposedly there was an "upgrade" to the 25mm bearing around 2012? But there still seem to be failures? Never really was problems with older ones but seems to a crap-shoot on the newer ones? I'm running 1" bearings on the front of my '09. There is also a double row non-abs 25mm bearing ya can use with custom spacers I'm thinking about on the rear? But I got 40k on the, I'm guessing stock bearing, rear now. Good Luck!

FWIW I thouht the 1"ID bearings were 2 row. Last summer I replaced my front wheel bearings, pulled the seals for S&G's and they are single row, with plastic cages. H-D9247 etched in the inner race and as far as I know the original bearings from the factory.

maybe it's different for the touring 1" bearings
That's interesting. The story of Harley wheel bearings between approx 2000 and 2008 is not easy to nail down! They went to sealed ball bearings, but not the same size across the model range. I have an '02 Softail rear wheel in my Glide, which came with single-row 3/4" ID bearings, but also takes the 1" double-row ones I have since installed. I understand that wheels from those years will also take 25mm bearings, as all those three sizes have the same OD. I hadn't heard of 1" single-row, so perhaps that is all part of the rich spectrum!

Reason: Grammar!
Buy 4 SKF6205-2RSJEM and 2 Harley HD9252 for ABS and change them all 6 bearings just for that warm fuzzy feeling.
6? there are 2 bearings each wheel. for non-abs they are the same 4 part #s (9276). for abs, one on each wheel is exchanged for the bearing with encoder (9252).
