Folks crack me up, all the touring bikes are the same bike so I would say get what you want. If getting more/less plastic is considered an upgrade/downgrade to you, then I think you are listening to the crowd and not your heart.

When I had my Street Bob and walked into a dealership, the saleswoman asked me what I wanted to upgrade to - I simply asked her "are you implying my current ride is a POS?" She didn't get what I meant. I explained to that I personally felt that ALL Harleys are great bikes, there is no upgrade or downgrade, there is only different.

My point is that only YOU can decide if you want something that it is different.

 

To me its a step down. I had a streetglide I'll always have an Ultra now.
