ATTENTION!

The SGS does not have air shocks....

And to the OP, you'll have to look in the owner's manual, figure your weight and the wife's and see what the moco's recommendation is, then make adjustments from there to suit your comfort.

Yep. Pretty common on here though. Lots of folks read the forums and that makes them experts. Never mind the fact that most are just spreading misinformation...

From the amount of time it took you to type all of that on your mobile device, you could of already walked in, got your manual and be reading it beside your bike so you can learn about your new toy, just sayin.

I have the Limited, but I put the SGS rear shocks on it. I set the rear shocks for having a passenger and just leave it that way.

A better seat with more padding in the rear would help her if you can't get the adjustments correct. For me and the wife we keep ours on the lowest setting and haven't needed to adjust with me solo or us both fully loaded. But we also use a hammock seat with our lower premium hand adjustable Harley shocks. FYI, if your having issues adjusting these you really want to stay away from the ohlins, they take a lot of adjusting/ getting broke in and then adjusting again for two up. And that two shocks to play with not just the one side like Harley!

For a 2014 SGS page 92 in the owners manual for pre-load adjustment settings. In my case, one turn in when I'm solo, 13 turns in when 2 up with my GF.
