I've done a search for this already, but keep hitting dead ends. I lost the compression spring on my rider seat-back that locks the back into the bracket. Checked with HD for the part, but they don't sell. Any leads you could lend me as a viable replacement?
I don't know if you have an Elliot's hardware store or not. Last time I was there, I saw that they had a bunch of springs. Some of them were the compression type needed for those backrests. Let me know and I can take some pictures and measure the one on the wife's bike.

Hey, thanks so much! Would love to know the specs!
I greatly appreciate all the help gang. I DID check Ace yesterday on a whim and did find something that works. Thanks also for the link to the part directly from HD. I went to my dealer before posting this thread and was told they don't sell it. I was confused especially when it did have a part number.
