As for me and my 11' "TK;" Commander II's all the way! Great for all road conditions. Although have yet to try them in the snow--haha

I'm checking out a set of Metzeler ME888 Marathon Ultras to replace my Dunlops. Nice looking tire and is available in a wide white wall.

E3 on front and rear. Approaching 20k on them. 75% highway with riding 2up 90% of the time. Still have enough tread for another safe 3-5k. very pleased with handling; especially in rain, bridge grates and tar snakes. Most likely with stay with them or try American Elite

Thank you everybody. I like that a few people "agree" on the E3's.

I have switched to an American Elite on the front (was cheaper in price too) and will change the rear later this year after a few trips, although the sidewalls look fine on it.

Hopefully no more cracking
I don't know if the AE's are any better....I just pulled a 2 year old front tire with cracks/dryrot all around the sides......3 sets of American elites and this was the first tire to crack......maybe you're right.....a bad batch that year......my tires born on date was 07-12......

Petdoc i want to hear your opinion on this matter. I am listening to all suggestions. A riding buddy just switched to avons and although two weeks is not a great indicator, so far he thinks they are better.

Oh, do tell.

Is your experience with the tires being mentioned (E3 and American Elite)?
Or are you basing your opinion on the factory HD Dunlop?

They are not the same tire.

I have the American Elite on mine now, and they are nothing like the factory tires.
I will buy them again when the time comes.

Any "new" tire you put on is going to feel better than whatever worn out tire you just took off.
Some of the best handling tires when new, won't last as long due to the softer compound they use.
No experience with Avon's, just putting it out there so you will take that into consideration.
