Me and the wife rode SIX GAP in north Georgia Saturday. I have to say it was a lot better than the dragon. The dragon is overrated in my opinion. Six Gap had a lot less traffic than the dragon also. The only bad part was on HWY 180 were they have been patching the road. Only down fall was going back thru Helen Ga., traffic was backed up. Had to stop in Helen to let the bike cool off. Other than that what a good day of riding. Ay others rode Six Gap? Opinions?
Got a ticket on the backside of Blood Mountain during the HD run. Given that we were - alledgedly - doing 23 over, going uphill, while two up on a Road King (with a pillion not known for her thrill seeking nature), the speed limit is pesimistic at best. Be careful out there folks!

Douf
On a bicycle, I seen a bunch of those. Not me, I'm to big of a lazy a** to ride a bicycle on flat ground, much less up a hill.
The Dragon is a great example of MARKETING. I lived on the VA/KY border, Wise County, VA for a few years, the roads there were WAY better than the Dragon. What they didn't have was a "resort" advertising, and creating hype.
If you ever get a chance, ride Pine Mountain... you could spend a day taking different routes over and around it from Elkhorn, KY to Haysi, VA to Jenkins, KY to Pound, VA to Whitesburg, KY and to Cumberland, KY...
What it has is great uncrowded roads, what it doesn't have is a Tshirt to prove you've been there.

It is a big marketing thing they have going. When we went last June, you couldn't hardly move in the tshirt store. I did get a dragon tshirt and did enjoy meeting new people, but the 11 miles down the dragon is a one time thing. One other note is there are so many sportbikes, they will about run you over. I don't get in a hurry so they can have at it.
I'm going to be in that area two weeks from now. Was going to spend a whole day just farting around Cherokee and riding Cherohala and the Dragon but I think I'll buck up and add the six gap loops onto the day. Nothing I love more than long full day's of mountain twisties.
