06 street glide, bought used, bone stock (as far as I know) it has screaming eagle slip ons and a bit of popping on decel....can I install a different air cleaner (ie heavy breather) and not hurt anything. no cash for a tuner at this time (dealer wants 560 and tax, PLUS the cables)

 

I wouldn't recommend it. If it's already popping, it's already lean. Adding a high flow ac will surely make it worse.

One thing on the popping, if there is any leakage on the exhaust system it will pop in the mufflers, guy at my dealer showed me how they use clear silicone at the slip connections to make them airtight and stopped a lot of popping I had on the '03 RK.
