Default Ouch...

Logged 2,200 miles through 4 states this last weekend. Other than riding in heavy rain from Dallas Tx. to Corpus Christi Tx. to get home yesterday it was uneventful. I noticed that my wrists, elbows and biceps were sore and bothering me during the last day of the ride (still sore today) and was wondering why? I have the stock bars on my 2014 flhtk and have never been sore before, although I've never logged that many miles in that amount of time either. I expected my nether region to be sore but that turned out awesome due to the airhawk pad I bought for the trip. Do I need a different bar setup to eliminate the pain? If so, how do I go about finding out what style I would need?

If you're not used to riding 700 mi / day, you're going to get sore regardless of the bars. The 14's have much better ergonomics than the previous versions. At least you saved your ***! Which air hawk did you use?

Wrists, elbows and biceps. You don't mention your forearms being sore. OK. Sounds like you're working holding yourself forward (pulling on the bars). Do you have a backrest? You might find one helps hold your forward, letting your arms relax.

I used the airhawk 2 with hardly any air, it's freaking awesome. We went out to eat one night and thought it's just a short ride I won't take it.... after riding with the pad it felt like crap without it

In 2011 I rode to Stugis and back (9 day trip)........2012 I did it again on the same bike......same mileage but this time my elbow (left only) swelled up and hurt for a week. My doctor told me I'm just becoming an old fart........so I sold the Fatboy and bought a Street Glide. LOL I've taken a couple long trips on the SG and no elbow problems. Could be a combination of age and bars. Have you tried rotating the bars forward a little so your arms are not bent at the elbows?

I do have an adjustable backrest and when leaning back on it relaxing I do reach for the bars (riding like this I have the grips in my fingers and not in my palms). If I adjust the backrest forward so that doesn't happen it feels like I'm sitting on the tank. Riding straight up and proper everything seems to be in the right spot, relaxed and hanging at the elbows. I thought maybe the slight misalignment of my wrists and the hanging elbows was the culprit.
