Love my 05 electra glide, rides soo good. However don't care for the batwing look. Does anyone know what it would take to remove the bat wing and end up with a roadking front end? Not really interested in trading the bike, loose too much money.
You won't loose as much as it will cost you to convert.

My first Harley was a 92 Ultra purchased used in 93. A big bagger with a trunk and fairing was the last thing I had in mind when I started looking for my first HD. At the time it was over a year wait on the RK, almost new / low milage bikes were scarce and I wanted off my Virago. I ended up keeping the Ultra over ten years and rode the sh_t out of it. When we finally parted ways it was for a new RK Classic. Within an hour out of the dealer I started missing the amenities that I had been sure I could live with out in order to ride a cooler looking scoot. I knew I would miss the tunes but I was suprised on how annoying I found it to look down at the tank to check my speed and don't get me started about the tach. Next day back at the dealers to work something out on a new EG.
My feeling is I ride the bike for ME and if someone else likes it fine. I would not trade for any other bike. I don't want to give up all the great stuff on this bike. I do ride the roads not in town and I guarantee you, on the road "no one can see you". So it does not matter what your bike look like.
I think one of the bike mags, American Iron I beleive, did just what your wanting to do, it came out to a little over $2,000.00 to do it, that was useing all harley stuff no after market items..I ride a EG Standard and when I talk new road king my dealer says yeah go for it, cause he knows I'll be back for another standard, he says 9 out of 10 people do.
