I had to read this thread just to satisfy my curiosity. Never had a problem with my pants blowing up and I've been wearing regular bluejeans for years. Thanks for posting the pic. Made me laugh and redeemed the time I wasted reading this nonsense.
Thanks to those that posted the serious responses. I have this problem with my work pants and some of my jeans. My uniform pants are really bad for blowing up to my knees so I've just used rubber bands. The boot straps I've seen in person had gaudy looking clips and I'm glad to see the other options. Not everyone is retired or can (or want to) wear "heavy" jeans every time we ride

Its an issue for bikes without lower fairings, so the guys that have never had an issue could remove there lowers and go for a ride on the highway and see what the issue is.
I use to hate having to put the boot straps on because I have a bad back, and the ones that go from side to side under the book sometimes clank on the ground and sound like your were stirrups. Most just the ones that have a badge on them like a POW/MIA ect...
For me the fix was to add lower fairings to my street glide, I thought I would just use them on long trips and in the winter but I got so use to not having to put boot straps on that I have left the fairings on unless doing a good cleaning. Might not be for everyone but lower fairings work as well.

I respect that.
But if you come off ONE time, you will wish for heavy denim at least.... polyester offers less protection than wearing shorts... at least with shorts the poly doesn't melt into your skin.
Just put highway pegs on my Street Glide. They're extremely comfortable but the wind moves the cuff of my pant legs up to my knees. Does this happen to everybody? How can I avoid looking like I'm wearing shorts when driving down the road?
This is what I use. Works good, blends in great with a black boot and a third of the cost of the boot straps.
I wear carpenters jeans in the hot summer months and occasionally on leg will blow up near the top of my boot. Never an issue for me. I also don't have my highway pegs set up as high as a set of gynecologist's stirrups.
