My Ride has arrived at the dealer. I took a ride over yesterday to check it out, finalize some add-ons and take care of money and paperwork. I should be in the saddle by mid to end of the week. I meant to take some cell phone pics but forgot.
Just want to thank all on the forum, this is one knowledgeable group. This is not my first bike or Harley, I expect no problems, but know where to turn if I need answers. I'll keep ya all posted.
Great, JT. Just in time for the season. What model did you get? If you're interested, sign up now for the Harley mileage program. I signed up 7,000 miles later, wasted 7K in mileage. It's free and if you ride, why not log the miles?
Nothn' smells better than new iron in the garauge!! Congrats on new ride. I suppose there are theads on the board about which models you were thinkn' about (sorry, new to board and haven't read the all..toomany!!) and which one did you get? What kind of add-on? Whatever it is, I'm sure you'll love it.
Rabid, the mileage program is where you mail off a form signed by a HD dealer. On the form is the starting mileage. WHen you first get admitted you get pin and a patch. Every so many miles you get a rocker and maybe a pin. Just something to sew onto your HOG vest.
If you are a member of HOG, go to their web site, log in, and then click on benefits of membership. You'll see the Mileage Program listed at the top of the page. Click and you can read about it. It's free.
Got an FLHTCU - POSE in Black. I had them add the GPS, but will wait until after the 1000 to add some other goodies. I want to see how the bike is stock compared to others I have owned in the past.
I had the larger Garmin Navigator on my BMW and realized the HD Quest is smaller, but for what I need it for it will do. Also I opted for the handlebar mount which puts it a little closer. The audio should be piped into my headset, which makes navigating a little easier. I usually ride with at least a 3/4 helmet, no beanies for me, I like Living. Thanks for the heads up.
