My stealer suggested I might want to upgrade my 2014 Ultra limited with a high flow air cleaner and "chip" with map.
Not sure whether its worth the $1000 AUD he quoted me.
Anyone out there done this upgrade?
Was there a significant power increase as a result?
Where in the rev range is the extra power, if any, made, low or up higher?
1.) a stock bike will be warranty compliant, no matter what happens. You have 2 years where HD covers any problems and are paying for that bundled in the purchase price
the 2014 air cleaner flows more than the earlier version- the jury is out but it may be the end of hi flow air cleaners on stock/near stock motors.
you have a restricted exhaust anyway- so flow through the motor may be limited by that...AU still have the active servo controlled exhaust valve?
not so much a "chip" but HD will sell you a download which may richen the fuel mixture here and there, may raise the rev limit depending on what they do.
the pricing is hard to discern- in the USA a Ness big sucker air cleaner with a chrome backing plate will run about $130 USD on ebay from easternpc
first thing I do is put on a "high flow" filter, not for the flow but because you can clean them and reuse them, 2 replacement air filters and you've paid for it , if you get some extra performance form it , thats a bonus. Doubt you need the stage one download with only a new air cleaner, but you may notice the bike runs a bit better with it, but I have nothing other than mine felt like it ran better with the download.
