Default 103 c. i. engine

Are the cylinders for a 103 engine simply bored out 96 c. I. cylinders or are they a bigger cylinder to start with?

the 96 has bore and stroke of 3.75 x 4.38.

The 106 has bore and stroke of 3.875 x 4.38, so it's the bore that changed.

The TC 88 had bore and stroke of 3.75 x 4.00 , so the step up to a 96 was done by lengthening the stroke.
