Wait for a little while until all are BlueTooth capable...then a tech can tune you from a remote location, on the fly. With the great functionality of the cellphone..it is just a short time before all can be managed in that fashion.
I expected to get a lot of "I like this one because....." responses, and that's fine because that's part of what I wanted to know. However, the main question is what will either of these units do for my bike that the current HD ECM flash isn't, and would these benefits justify a $400 expenditure?

The better question is what do you want the tuner to do for you. Either can remap, but unless you are looking for something specific neither will meet or exceed your expectations in my opinion. I have the Power Vision, Fuelmoto can provide me with maps if I decide to change items. It would make the remapping quite easy.

That's a good point in this case. The FM maps are pretty spot on.
When I purchased my '07 FLHTC a few years ago, the previous owner had already completed Stage 1. However, the ECM flash was the Screaming Eagle HD stage 1 flash. Nothing more. It seems to work ok but it appears that the majority of people prefer some sort of other fuel management method than the HD stage 1 flash.
My reason for selecting TTS or Power Vision is because they also will allow me to correct my speedometer error. If there are other tuners out there that also allow you to adjust your speedometer accuracy, I'd be interested in them too.
If there's no real benefit for purchasing one of these tuners for my stage 1 machine, I see no need to spend $400+ dollars just to correct a 2.5 MPH error in my speedometer. What's your advice? Thanks
The Stage 1 download adds 4 to 6% to the VE tables in the 95 to 100% area and adds couple of degrees timing down in idle area and remove 2 to 4 degrees in the cruise area. It also richens the AFR table .002 Lambda in the cruise to idle area. The PV or TTS can both do the same basic tuning functions. PV has better diagnostics capabilities I have used many times. The TTS seems to have better canned maps. Both can do speedo adjustments. The PV can hold 6 maps and the TTS doesn't have any capability to reprogram without laptop. The PV can also do quick tune without laptop which can change VE, Spark, idle, speedometer, turn on and off several functions and can do autotuning without laptop. Only time you have to have the PV hooked to the bike while moving is for autotuning. The TTS can gather data without laptop, but can't process it without laptop.
What will they do is make run cooler, better performance, and smoother. If that kind of stuff isn't important to you, just leave it alone. It also gives you the ability to get it dyno tuned or add other performance equipment such as cams, heads, compression, and do gearing changes.
Thanks for the replies, especially Ke5rbd. They helped.
If I had a stock bike, it would be a no-brainer, but my bike was stage 1 already when I bought it. BTW, it has the SE Intake using a K&N filter, V&H 4" basic slip-ons, and the HD Stage 1 flash. I plan to make no other changes to the engine.
I don't know of anyone who has had a HD Stage 1 flash, and then purchased one of these tuners afterwards. That's why I'm asking in a forum if it's worth spending $400. I'd hate to spend the money for either of these tuners and not be able to tell much of any difference. My bike has over 37K on it, so if I were terribly dissatisfied with it, I would have changed something a long time ago.
Another issue for me is fuel mileage. This is a touring bike, and I tour (2 up). If you check the EPA figures, the '07 didn't get that good of mileage anyway. Currently I manage 45 mpg on highways and secondary roads. Jump on the interstate and I'll only get 40-42 mpg. I don't want a tuner to drop my interstate mileage to 38, regardless of whatever slight improvements I might experience.
