Got stuck in a traffic jam last month on a hot afternoon on the interstate. Engine "felt" hot but parade mode never kicked in. This is my fourth Harley and have never had any heat failures on any of them. Like previously stated, you will give up before your Harley will.

I think that Wards fan to cool would be a good add on for any bike, that's something I am looking at. I hate getting stuck in slow traffic, stop and go, or long lights to wait in, and then the motor temps climb.

My in dash oil temp gauge has pegged 300* and stayed there for extended periods riding 2-up in 110* without a problem.

Hopefully "Parade Mode" is turned on! Mine wasn't when I picked it up from the dealer.

The Harley motors will take a beating, time has proven that.. For personal comfort I would also suggest one of our Crotch Coolers.. If you ever have any questions about any of our products just give us a call or email,we are happy to speak with you.

What harley COULD do (especially with the price you pay for the bikes) is put on a fan assisted oil cooler or a set up like "love jugs" and specify synthetic only. No reason for an engine to have to exceed 250'F.

Removing the catalytic convertors helps tremendously with engine heat and Pinging.

Removing a cat helps with the heat coming from the pipe but without a tune it does nothing for engine heat or pinging.

A few years ago we were in Tennessee on a very hot week. Sitting in traffic my oil light came on. That scared me a little but had no failure. At the time I had a 98 ultra classic. The idle on that was set a little low around 700rpm so that may have had some to do with it. If I understand correctly they need to be around 100rpm to circulate the oil properly

I think you'll fry you nads long before you fry the engine.
