Goes together easy, and works like a charm. It's true its just one more thing to look at and think about while riding, but in the Nevada summers, my engine temp has broken 315 degrees in traffic.
Times like those, its time to look for an alternate route or a place to stop for a drink.
I think the most interesting thing of having an oil temp gauge is watching the oil go from 230 to zip on the gauge in like 10 seconds flat while heading into some rain.
Because of that, I've often though of having an emergency water bottle spray system pointing to the oil pan when stuck in heavy traffic. I've seen the oil gauge peg to 350 several times. Not a great feeling.
i put one on my 2010 Ultra Classic and was surprised at how cool it ran most of the time. it only got hot a couple of times during the summer but never like i thought it might. it was a worry preventor at the least. i became so confident in the engine cooling properties that i haven't put one on my 2013 FLHTK yet but i might at my next service....25000 miles.
that temp gauge is weird, sometimes its close...sometimes its 10 degrees off....sometimes up...sometimes down. if it was constant at least, you could factor in the difference.
how much is this kit in black?? part #? where to buy ?
Don't know what to tell you?
It appears that it is not made anymore, but that it may still be available through some vendors?
If you want it you're going to have to look for it?
