Just installed my HD intercom/stereo headset speakers that came with my 05 Ultra in my 3/4 Arai helmet. Helmet speakers have very low radio volume no bass, just treble. I have to crank the radio volume up to within one bar of full to hear music on the road. Intercon is OK, Just low radio volume through the speakers, even after adjusting bass and treble. Any one else having this problem? I checked all connections, speaker switch position, wiring etc.
I checked mine when I bought it and had no problems on my 04 Ultra. Check both positions and see if it's just the rider and/passenger circuit. You might have a problem in the wiring or something to that affect. The dealer should be able to fix that in no time.
The helmet speakers tend to sit deeper than preferable in the helmet shell. I took some foam rubber and inserted that ind=side the helmet recess for the speakers, then installed the speakers, then laid a piece of think felt over the opening....makes a night and day difference!!! Try it!
My guess is that the intercom is just fine...it's just the stereo that is crappy...right?
Yes, just the stereo is crapy, intercom is ok. It is the same on both the passenger and pilot hookups. I was going to try raising the ear pirces away from the helmet and will try to do it this week. I feel getting the earpieces closer to the ears should help.
