I was wondering if you can disconnect your front ABS and leave the rear one intact???

That would break your brakes.

Curious as to why you would want to do that? Not sure if it is possible, but just don't understand why...

He's making a funny... Brake is what stops you, as in brake pads. Break is what happens when it stops working or you just need a rest!

Most ABS brake systems are designed to have input from both the sensors on the front and back wheels and bias the brake force appropriately on both wheels, even if you apply one brake - to give maximum braking force without losing traction. ABS is only activated when the sensors detect iminate wheel lock up. If this is the case it will not work. Why would you want to do this in the first place?

ABS is more important on the front wheel since if the front wheel locks under braking you crash, 100% guaranteed. Usually in less than 1/10th of a second - no exaggeration. If the rear locks it will just slide unless it slides out from under you in a turn.

I just wanted to do it as a temporary thing to try a 23 inch wheel I have laying around the shop. It's off a older bike with no ABS and a 1 inch axle so it have to change out the lower legs which I am doing anyway to install my progressive springs
