I bought the Titan 1500xlt . It was about 1250 bucks but came with front extensions as well as side extension, wheel vise ,hydraulic unit run from air compressor. It's the cats pajama to not have to squat and roll on the floor etc. Anything you get will be great after not having one.

you use a scissor jack to lift the rear of the bike and pull the tire out, I have the lowly HF lift and just did my rear tire, it was a pleasure, I kept my impact on the scissor jack and just hit it up or down as needed, I have done about 15 rear tire changes on a bike jacks and this one was so easy a caveman could do it! i also recommend getting a rolling chair if you really want to do it in style.

Amazon has a good quality
scissor jack scissor jack
for $75. If your table has a drop out panel, It's easy as pie if you use a floor jack to assist removing / replacing a rear wheel.

Thanks all.... a lot of good info/experience.

I thought the side extensions would be a must have, the experiences listed have provided some food for thought.....

I have looked at all the models suggested and they all seem like they would do a good job for my needs.....

The biggest difference between those costing around 1K and those costing 1.5K+.... seems to be the table height.

Most lift in the 30"-33" range, and a few lift to 40"-42" range. I have held a tape measure from the floor and it seems like a huge difference.

Does anyone regret only having a 31" height for the table?

Is the 40"lift height worth an extra $500 to $700 dollars?

Thanks again....

Lift it up too high can be a problem you have garage door tracks or limited height.

I never felt the need for side extensions on a bike lift, just seams like your too far away from it then.
Cool!

Mine will lift higher than the 33" locked. It will actually do about 36". I've never had a reason (yet) to have more height. Get the roll around stool for $100 and issue taken care of!

I've got long arms. The extra 10" or so of the extensions doesn't bother me a bit.

Not sure how you'd change a rear tire without one. If you don't have the drop-out panel, all you need to do is jack the bike up higher.

I don't use the chopper extension, but if I were to do a major tear-down that'd have the bike on the lift for a while, I'd probably put it on.

I was concerned that 31" height would not be high enough, but its fine. Also wondered if the side extensions would make me have to reach to get to the bike, but they are no problem, I can reach every thing with ease. As someone else pointed out, they do consume another 2' of garage space, but you don't need to leave them on either. I'm happy I got them and have the option. They came in very handy for tools, parts, the service manual, and no problem with reach.

Hmmmm, Seems to me the way some of you go on about your J&S and Pitbull jacks; to buy anything less than a Handy table lift kinda makes you a hypocrite or a poser or something of that sort
