+2 or +3 whatever we are up to on Iron Cross. I scored a free HK and sent it to them to be repaired (shaken radio syndrome) plus rear auxiliary jack and color change (yellow to match silver face gauges). Could not be happier as my bike is an '05 so this HU is an upgrade for me. Satellite radio chord is now hidden, matching color is real nice. I would recommend IC to anyone. And super fast turnaround

I'd have Iron Cross repair your HK radio. This way you won't lose any functionality. Also, when it's time to sell, you won't change the perceived value of your bike. You won't have people asking why the radio was replaced.

Has anyone done the Bluetooth upgrade from IC? Considering having that mod done in the future.

The main questions to ask yourself is
1. Do you want to retain CB function?
2. Do you want to retain hand controls?
3. Are you ok with removing the faceplate to prevent theft?
4. Do you care about CD player function?
5.Do you want marine grade(water resistant) or Water proof?

Just about any aftermarket radio can be used with hand controls on your bike with the proper Hand control module. We use them all the time.
Ex. Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood ect.

If you don't care about cd player function and want a water proof radio then the Aquatic AV gen 2 or even the gen 1 is your best option.

We carry and install the Sony MEX M70bt, Kenwood KMR d765bt, and both Aquatics on a regular basis. If I can be of any assistance as far as questions or anything else please don't hesitate to ask.

I wouldn't worry too much about anyone stealing the faceplate. I mean it's absolutely worthless without the rest of the HU.
BTW: I love my Aquatics AV HU. Sounds great and being able to store all my music on a USB drive and always ready is awesome.

I went with the Sony MEX-M70BT. No regrets. Bluetooth works great, and lots of tuning ability.

They can all be plug and play with the right interface. The whole stock system is very weak. I went with a Kenwood deck and a Soundstream 1000 watt amp infinity speakers in the fairing and kickers in the tour pak. This system is very loud at 85 MPH my son riding next to me can hear it. If I park in a sketchy area I remove the face plate and lock it in the tour pak. I have never had anyone mess with my bike, after all aren't we all packing?
