Sounds like a lot of guys are lugging their motors. Worst thing you can do for a Harley motor.
Withmy motor I can cruise at 2500 on flat ground and slight grades. Of course my crank is welded and balanced. Big difference, but thats too low of mph for me on the open highway.
On the sportster sprocket its 3 teeth less, if i remember right each tooth change in the front = 2-3 in the rear.
I did my belt before hearing about the availability of the sportster pulley. Now i know if i blow the belt i can reuse the stock one with a sporty rear pulley
I had an 07 FLSTF, the gearing seemed to be tall, and I used 5th gear at 60-65 mph and did not hit 6th until 70 mph, which 72 mph in 6th worked better. Had a 103 build done on it and redshift 575 cams, Baisley heads, D&D 2-1, helped pull 6th at 70 mph better.
ebay. just searched 68 tooth sportster pulley i would have to search my records for the proper part number on one, but an add like this is where i started. there is sone threads on here that had the part number, but i would need to find it.
