Thinking about buying the intiminators for my 2013 sg, how hard are they to install? does the whole fork need disassemby or can you just pop out the springs and install the unit? couldn't find install instructions any where.
No, its as easy as changing springs. Drain your oil, pull the springs, fill oil, drop in the INTIMINATOR and replace the spring. Some people also cut the spring spacer the same length as the INTIMINATOR takes up to keep the same sag."
I suggest you measure actual sag before and after installation, in fact chuck the stock springs and install Race Tech single-rate springs, matched to your weight. Also be aware that member fabrik8r has offered tuned Intiminators, to give improved performance over stock Intiminators. There is a lengthy thread here about his fine efforts on our behalf.
I highly recommend the modified intiminators from fabrik8r. It's a little effort but made a major improvement to my 2012 Limited's front suspension.

Agree with both.... ill be adding them to my 13 RG Ultra over the winter....
I recommend not doing the ricor mod and installing race tech springs that are one softer then recommended. I know a couple guys that would install a slightly softer spring if they could do it over again.
Or, try it with stock springs first, that alone makes the front end much better.
Other then the guy who does the ricor mod, how many have tried the ricors without the mod, then with the mod, to compare the change?
Call Bryan at ricor, see what he says.
Forgot to mention, one of the two guys thinking a slightly softer spring would be even better had jasons mod.

My main concern was can I get the springs out with out having to drop the whole fork out , this is on a fairing bike . Also I noticed in the parts manual there is something called a dampner #46209-09, is that removed when using the Ricor, I see that it only shows it on the fairing bikes not on the roadkings also the springs are also different.
I'm just trying to prepare for all possibilities before I start the job.
As the quote from the Ricor website makes clear, all you remove is the springs, install the Intiminators, then refit the springs. I suggested you replace those as well. Those damper tubes stay in place. Don't over-think this! You will find some useful stuff in fabrik8r's thread as well, although you can skim over much of it.
It's not the tube I'm concerned about but on top of the tube appearrs somenthing that looks like the Ricor unit or a race tech emulator. This can be seen in the parts manual.
