You mean to tell us that YOUR bike's O2 sensors have fuel lines going to them?
And what about those pesky little VE's? Suppose some of those cells are already getting too much fuel? Additional fuel is (in your words) "necessary"?
Sorry dude, but you really have NO clue as to what you're talking about. No wonder new guys here get so confused.
PLEASE, PLEASE stay out of these discussions until you learn just a little about the HD EFI system.
And I like how you went back and edited your comment...must have forgotten to add something that you saw on the article you were reading. And yes, I have special O2 sensors that have fuel running to them. They work with the spark plugs further down the exhaust pipe to make flames come out of my exhaust. Again...tell us in your infinite wisdom what it is that O2 sensors do to an engine and its tune. And VE tables? You have no clue about volumetric efficiency. As a matter of fact, at mean sea level, what is the average air pressure, air temp, and the standard VE based on both?? I do engines for a living...everything from small 2 strokes, all the way up to turbines and jets. So, explain to us in all of your infinite wisdom please....
Oh yeah...by the way...please inform us of the formula used to calculate VE. That should steer you in the right direction.
Welp...its been 5 minutes...I guess you're still researching huh??? Displacement times RPM /3456....there ya go. Thats how you get 100% Volumetric Efficiency. Now, what formula does that one resemble??? I'll give you 10 minutes to research that one since you are the subject matter expert and all...
Have a 2013 Street Glide with 4" Rinehart Slip Ons and the stock header pipe. Are stock header pipes with the cat removed as good as aftermarket, for instance Vance & Hines Dresser Duals? No other Mods other than a HD Stage 1 High Flow Air Filter. My goal is to eliminate the cat and create more sound from the exhaust. Not going to do any other mods regarding engine.

To answer your first question-no, they are not as good, but all depending on how you ride and how dialed in your butt-dyno is, you may or may not feel the difference.
Regarding your second question, here is a link that give some objective pro's & con's of the most popular methods of adjusting the tune on a Stage 1. After the first few posts there are lots of opinions.
I'm currently running a stock header with the catalyst removed. Vance and Hines fishtail slip on's with a S&S stealth air cleaner. In order to richen up the fuel mix I went with the Dynojet Micro Tuner. This tuner goes in line with the fuel injectors and doesn't utilize the stock O2 sensors at all. Fuel Moto set up the map for me and it has been working well for 20k miles. I hope this helps to answer your question.
Thanks for the ideas and input. I like the looks of a header pipe like V&H Dresser Duals so I'll go with that based solely on looks. From reading the comments, I will go with some form of a tune, probably the XiED style or one that 'reprograms' the ECM and not a piggy back type. Thanks, Jim
I've got a Fullsac sports header on the way to the house right now. Got a dyno tune scheduled for Saturday. I'll let you know what that ends up looking like.
Jesus Christ. So much info that is simply totally incorrect in this thread. NO member should listen to ANYONE in the post, except for pine tree.
OK, gutted pipes will make LESS power than stock. Cobra Fi2000 is NOT a tuner... it's a fueler... HUGE difference. There would be no way in hell, that I would EVER install a Power Commander on a 2013 bike. I don't care how many engines EShaw has built, he has NO clue how Speed Density Delphi tuning works. Neither does Gregg 2012.
Me? Yes, in fact I DO understand how speed density works and I professionally tune Harleys. I get tired of crap folks make up in their heads and mis lead members here.
QUIT IT!!!!!! NONE of what ANY of what you guys said is the truth.
