Super affordable, easy install, and the tint is spot-on to the stock shield. It's about 1.5" taller than the shield that came with the bike, but that's all I wanted. This is a 6", but they also have 7", 8", 9", and 10" available. And 3 days shipping from CA to PA.
I've cut down a bunch, I taped the crap out of them with blue painters tape, cut them on my bandsaw, then used towels to pad the curve and clamped it in my vise.
files, then sandpaper and sanding block, all the way down to 4000 wet, and plastic polish gave a nice smooth rounded finish, similar to the edge of car side windows. I didn't remove the painters tape until I was done.
I don't get it....you have a Street Glide but don't like the windshield?
Easy-peazy....how 'bout tradin' it out for a Road King? The windshield comes completely off on that model.
Around town, all the time in CA Bay Area weather. For me it's all about options/versatility. Not concerned about other people liking it,it's all about the wind in my face from time to time.
I currently have a kw 8 flare and I don't like the wait it looks with the apes.. so I've been on the fence about just gettinga sstandard flhx short screen or maybe getting something smaller. so I thought crossed my mind of takin the kw off and riding without one to see if u like it or not.. the wind and bugs don't bother me although I think it'll look fukin weird lol.. i did notice the gap between the fairings the last time I had to do some work so I don't know that I want anything tucked away being exposed to any of the elements.. thoughts fellas??
batwing without windshield of any king just dosnt look right IMO. i have a KW 8 1/2 in and im mixed on how it looks but it works great. Cea Bailys windshields are the next best thing. check em out. I may go with one of those. I will never not have a windshield. Been there done that. Not fun in the summer. bug city
