Default mity vac

I was watching a video on this device for brake or clutch bleeding. Why not just go to a feed supply store such as tractor supply and for 3$ purchase a 50 cc syringe? I did a new clutch and brake line using speed bleeders and this method...worked exceedingly well. Can't beat the price...Just a thought for any that enjoy cheap and easy hydraulic work.

I've done exactly that (and I have a mity vac too).

I usually reverse bleed the brakes, pushing fluid up into the master cylinder using a large syringe.

I used the speed bleeders with the check valve so it was easy for me to just zip tie the lever open and suck it from the master. 5 minute job..no air in the line... 3$ outlay. Love those speed bleeders.

Can this be done if you have ABS?

I see no reason why not...gets all air out of the line. It works amazingly well..

I've been bleeding brakes for decades, since I helped my Dad on the family cars. As for bikes and more recent experience, I have a Mityvac and have also tried other products over the years. To be frank I haven't found any one that works better than the others. When the gods are in a good mood and the stars are all aligned, by far the quickest way is the traditional piece of hose and a bottle. However the ideal conditions do not often arise, hence the popularity of the many 'fixes'.
