I swore I would never buy a new Harley again. Test drove a 2012 Street glide yesterday and came home with a 2014. So much for my willpower but man what a smooth ride. The2014 is very nice, but it shifts hard. I mean real hard. My 2007 Low Rider shifted much easier. Is this something that will work itself out as it gets ridden? It's at 380 miles now.
Thanks

Reason: wanted to make sure it didn't look like i was complaining
It's because it's new. My 2012 was like that when I bought it. Smooth as butter now.. I also use Amsoil 75-140 oil in the trans when I did my fist trans service.
The bike is new. At your 1k service, change to a real gear lube & not the HD syn $hit. There are several brands. I use RedLine Shockproof. I don't remember what is included in the 1k, but make sure they adjust the clutch at the basket.

Agreed, I also put the Redline Shockproof in my bikes. Once you put it in, the shifting improves greatly. It also makes it 100 times easier to get into neutral.

I almost agree...
Get either Redline with Shockproof or Amsoil SevereGear in the transmission, go with Harley Formula+ in the primary.
That will smooth the shifting out.
But... there is no adjustment in the basket now that you have a hydraulic clutch.

I understood that with the hydraulic clutch, the ONLY clutch adjustment was at the basket since there is no cable adjust. I have a cable so I don't know for sure.
