I am looking to change my rear turn signal bulbs to red, the lenses are smoked. I heard that the Sylvania Silverstar(sp) bulbs are the best for this application, but I seem to be having a problem finding a place that sells them, any ideas? Do I have the right name?
Most Walmarts, Autozone and PepBoys all carry the SilverStars. Also, they now make an Ultra SilverStar, I'm running them in my Neon headlamps. Those have put the standard SilverStars that I was running to shame!

I wil have to stop by there on my way home from work and take a lok for them thanks for the walmart idea, I don't go there often, it gets pretty crowded.
On the rear, I have a detatchable tourpak with the HD LED Spoiler, a LED HogLite mounted under the tourpak, LED side marker lights, LED tail light, LED directionals, LED saddlebag spoilers and the HD LED lighted saddlebag latches. My tourpak spoiler, Hoglite and saddlebag spoilers are wired with a Comagination flasher. The saddlebag LED latches blink when the directionals are used. I did have to splice the flasher into my harness but that was it. The directionals and the SB latches have plug in modules that handle their specific functions. I did not have to install any load resisters.I have absolutely no load issues.
I put a smoked laydown lens on my rk custom. Put a red bulb I got from walmart. It was a Sylvania. Melted the lens and stuck to the lens. When I removed it, the bulb broke. Figured the lens was ruined, but only cost me 25 on ebay, so I figured no big deal. I would just buy a led smoked lens for 89 I see on ebay. I have been buying new parts and trying new stuff. I deal dice and drilled out one, attached a nut to it and it is now the bolt on the dash of my rk custom. Figured that since the bulb was useless I would try to add a dice. I drilled a hole in the lens and attached a red dice to it. Then I went to autozone and bought a red led bulb. Put it all back together, and it glows. Especially when I apply the brake. Defineately different. Paid 14 bucks for two bulbs. Cheap way to go, maybe, but I bet I will never see another one like it.
Hey soos, from the pics your hind end looks pretty good
I got a smoked lens from walters workshop and ended up melting the lens also. I spoke with them at Walters and found that I had the wrong lens for the bulb that I wanted to use. They replaced the lens and bulb for free with the right lens with more clearance.
I got my smoked taillight from Custom Dynamics. Their listing stated that the incandesent bulb supplied may melt the lens. I didn't really read it until after I installed it and melted the lens in under 5 minutes. Even though I was forewarned and I did melt it, they replaced the lens. Great people to deal with and I highly recommend them
