Wondering how to handle this. I took my 06 street glide to dealership on May 30 today is July 18. For a remanufacture job on engine. They sent engine off in June 2 Said they just got engine back on July 11. I still do not have it back. Said that place that did engines machine serial # s was broke why took so long. But being it has took so long should I ask for discount or something if so who do I ask an what do I say. Or just don't worry about it It's been 49 days I so frustrated. Want to ride an it costing $5700. Opinions please. Thanks
opinions, #1- did you ask how long it would take to get bike back.#2 why did you wait till riding season to get here and then decide to get a new engine.
At this point just ask for a due date and live with it! Last thing you want to do is become a PITA and create bad mojo. It' "only" been a week since they got it back and though you have been there a while, they have other work scheduled (this is there busy season). If they are honorable they will have you out ASAP! Next time, don't wait till riding season starts to have a major over hall done. This is typically a winter project.
I say it's always good to have a "peaceful" discussion with the service staff about your situation. Definitely make them aware of your concern(s) and address the problem of (1) duration of this project and (2) your lost patience with their timeline. Did they ever relay the machine break-down issue to you earlier and said it will be additional time...??

I feel the same way...your point can be made in a firm manner without histrionics, never condescending to them. Works for me...they are men just like you...treat them as a man...you will be surprised how much better you will both feel.

Yes I agree not to be crazy. Only reason having engine done now is oil pump wend down in May An messed can bearing an crank bearing was bad So was told best option was do reman job. Did research an average turnover time was around 30 days. Wasn't expecting this long.
