My kids bought me the cable adjustable one--I use it on long runs and it feels good to be able to push back on it to relieve some of the aches BUT I take it off for anything under 100 miles to give my Teddy Bear, on the back seat, some exposure.

I got the non-adjustable one and I like it, not the least of which it was less expensive. And my Harley guy recommended it over the adjustable.

i have the solid one. takes about a minute to mount and remove..you can adjust the height because the mounting on the bike has multiple holes and there is a screw in the little hole in the back that will allow angle adjustment..about the only downside is that you can not be riding while adjusting..no big deal because once you dial it in you will probably never move it again..my solid one flips forward to allow a passenger to get on..

another in favor of the fixed one. i had to bend the bars slightly though. pushed me too far up. i have the allen screw all the way out. as others have said, now that it is just right i don't feel the need to adjust any more. i leave mine on 24/7.

but then again, my spine is all jacked up. i NEED the backrest.

If the "non-adjustable" one adjust's up and down, and the lean-angle, what the hell else does the "adjustable" one do that the non-adjustable can't?[sm=dontgetit.gif]

The same as the non-adjustable one , except you can change it all on the move. A simple pull of the lever about where the left knee is and you can move it back and forth to get the right riding position for you at any time. And it is a snap to remove. Takes about 2 Seconds.

This is going to be my Father's Day present....and I'm getting the fixed one for the reasons mentioned above - - dial it in and you're all set.

Which way do you turn the screw in the back to get more lean away from the driver? Counter clockwise or clockwise? Also, if the screw comes out and the lean angle is ok, do you really need to have the screw in there? Don't ask me how I know this...... [:@]
